Telehealth Consent
Zarity delivers care online — through video, audio or chat consultations in the app — as well as in person at partner clinics. This document explains how online (telehealth) care works, its limits, and what you are agreeing to when you consult a Zarity professional remotely.
1. How online care works at Zarity
Your consultation is conducted by a Registered Medical Practitioner or a qualified healthcare professional (a nutritionist, physiotherapist or mental-health professional) over the Zarity app. You and your provider will confirm each other’s identity at the start of the consult. Your provider will use their professional judgement to decide whether your concern can be safely managed online, or whether an in-person examination, tests, or referral is needed.
2. What you’re consenting to
By accepting this consent, you confirm that:
- You are choosing to receive care from Zarity’s professionals remotely through the app;
- You will share accurate, complete health information, and understand your provider relies on it;
- You consent to your provider and care team accessing and recording the health information needed to treat you, as set out in our Privacy Policy;
- You understand a provider may issue advice, a care plan, or a prescription based on the consultation, within the limits of the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020;
- You can ask questions, seek a second opinion, or stop the consultation at any time.
3. The limits of online care
Telehealth cannot fully replace an in-person examination. Some conditions cannot be adequately assessed remotely, and certain medicines cannot be prescribed online under Indian law. Technology issues (connectivity, audio/video quality) may affect a consultation. If your provider decides online care is not appropriate for your situation, they will advise an in-person visit or refer you onward, and no consultation should be treated as a guarantee of any particular outcome.
Not for emergencies. Telehealth is not for medical emergencies. If you have severe symptoms, chest pain, difficulty breathing, a serious injury, thoughts of self-harm, or any life-threatening situation, contact your nearest hospital or emergency services immediately. See our Medical Disclaimer & Emergency Notice.
4. Your care team
Zarity care is often delivered by more than one professional working together — for example a doctor, a clinical nutritionist, a physiotherapist and a mental-health professional. Consenting here allows the members of your care team to share the health information relevant to coordinating your treatment. Sensitive information, such as mental-health notes, is shared only with those clinically involved in your care.
5. Recording
Zarity does not record your consultation unless we tell you and you separately agree. Where a consultation is recorded (for clinical or quality purposes), you will be informed and asked to consent before recording begins, and the recording is handled under our Privacy Policy. Declining a recording will not affect your ability to receive the consultation.
6. Records and privacy
Notes, prescriptions and reports from your online consultations are stored securely and are available to you and your care team. We handle them in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your records as described there.
7. Withdrawing consent
You may decline or withdraw this consent at any time. Doing so means we may be unable to provide online care, but it will not affect care already given or your right to seek in-person care.
